Class Appraisal Recognized During National Mortgage Professional Month

September is national mortgage professional month. Officially proclaimed by the National Day Calendar in 2015, the month is meant to celebrate all mortgage industry professionals who play a role in helping people finance their dream of owning a home.

At the beginning of the month, Class Appraisal Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jon Tallinger was nationally recognized as a leader in the mortgage finance industry by HousingWire. He is one of 33 professionals across the country carefully selected for their vital and dynamic contributions to their companies.

“These professionals are often the cornerstones of companies in lending, servicing, investing or real estate, and we’re happy to shine the spotlight on their efforts,” HousingWire said in the 2017 award winner announcement.

HousingWire, the nation’s most influential source of news and information for U.S. mortgage markets, honors these operational all-stars through their Insiders Award program. The publication began recognizing “unsung heroes of the mortgage finance industry” last year. A full list of this year’s award winners can be found here.

National Mortgage Professional Month Spotlight: Jon Tallinger

Jon has been with Class Appraisal since day one. He helped launch the company in 2009 and worked as its first employee. Naturally, he’s always worn a lot of hats. While serving as the company’s chief appraiser, Jon saw the company’s frustration with not being able to find a good fit to head their sales team. So he took it upon himself to fill that role.

He now leads the sales, marketing and client services teams as VP of sales and marketing. His primary role is driving growth initiatives within in the company, and he excels at connecting with people in the industry to uncover new opportunities. When he’s not traveling to visit clients or conferences, Jon spends much of his day on the phone ensuring client success, escalating issues that need to be resolved, and finding ways to work with prospective clients. He also keeps a close eye on monthly, weekly and even daily metrics.

Jon loves the challenge and adrenaline that come along with setting big goals and finding the right formula to make those goals a reality. He focuses less on “selling” and more on being himself, building relationships and telling the Class Appraisal story. Last year, the sales team he leads helped the company achieve 98 percent year-over-year growth. He credits all of Class Appraisal’s 115 employees for the success.

“When you have a team that provides the highest level of communication and client satisfaction, it becomes very easy to tell your story to prospective clients. Sales through service has been the key to our success,” Tallinger said to HousingWire.

National Mortgage Professional Magazine named Jon one of the most influential mortgage professionals under 40 in both 2015 and 2016, as well as one of the most connect mortgage professionals in 2017.
